Welcome to The Good Psychologist, the home of practical and accessible sport psychology courses to help you achieve your potential in golf. I am Dr Paul McCarthy. I am the Director of The Good Psychologists. I have worked with golfers nationally and internationally over the past 25 years in addition to lecturing, researching, and writing refereed journal articles and books. As a chartered psychologist (BPS) and registered practitioner psychologist in sport and exercise psychology (HCPC), I have worked with athletes across all ages, levels and sports from junior athletes through to professionals in golf, soccer, Commonwealth and Olympic athletes. Most notably, the world-famous St Andrews Links Golf Academy in Scotland recognised my expertise and invited me to become the first sport psychologist in residence at the Old Course, St Andrews. I devote much of my private practice to players in premier league football and professional golf.
